Push the Button (PTB)
Push the Button (PTB) is a blockchain-powered competitive clicker game that turns a simple interaction into a rewarding experience.
I was involved from the ground up, helping transform it from a basic browser game into a scalable Web3-native platform
The Challenge
The early prototype was just a simple clicker with limited engagement and no long-term retention. It lacked depth, competitive elements, and monetization opportunities. My role was to shape its architecture, gameplay enhancements, and token economy to ensure growth and sustainability.
Goals & Objectives
Increase user engagement through new game modes and events. Drive daily active users with competitive challenges. Introduce token-based monetization via $PUSH and NFTs. Build scalable architecture to handle future expansions.
My Contributions
- Designed and proposed scalable architecture for migrating from Web2 to Web3.
- Developed an internal mock server (similar to Stripe sandbox) to simulate tokenized transactions, speeding up development and demos.
- Defined retro-style UI/UX direction aligned with Web3 culture.
- Contributed to gameplay features like “Last Push Wins,” leaderboards, raffles, and booster packs.
- Pushed for NFT customizations and personalization features to boost retention.
Results & Impact
- Boosted user engagement with multiple game modes and rewards.
- Improved retention and DAUs by making gameplay competitive and social.
- Enabled token-driven monetization through $PUSH and in-game purchases.
- Delivered a visually distinct retro-style experience that resonated with Web3 users.
- PHelped position PTB as an addictive, community-driven blockchain game rather than a basic clicker.
Conclusion
This project highlights my ability to go beyond development tasks, shaping product direction, proposing architectures, and enhancing user experience. My work ensured PTB grew into a scalable, Web3-ready game with strong community engagement and monetization potential.
