Our Better World: Digital Storytelling Platform

Our Better World (OBW) is a digital storytelling initiative under the Singapore International Foundation. The platform shares authentic stories of good across Asia, inspiring people to connect, volunteer, and take meaningful action. The goal was to build a scalable, reliable, and engaging digital platform that could handle both rich storytelling content and high user engagement.

The Challenge

OBW needed to modernize its digital presence to reach a global audience effectively. The platform had to: Deliver multimedia stories (articles, videos, blogs) seamlessly across devices. Scale for high traffic spikes when new campaigns or stories went viral. Provide an intuitive CMS for storytellers and editors. Ensure secure user engagement features such as sign-ups, newsletters, and action calls.

Build a robust storytelling platform with both editorial and community-driven content. Enable seamless publishing workflows for non-technical contributors. Provide multi-channel engagement tools (email subscriptions, calls to action, sharing options). Deliver secure and scalable infrastructure for global audiences.

My Contributions

Designed and developed scalable APIs to support multimedia storytelling and user engagement.
Implemented secure authentication and user management for contributors and subscribers.
Built analytics and tracking modules to monitor engagement and calls-to-action impact.
Revamped the platform’s architecture with a modern, responsive design for better accessibility.
