Live ProjectElektrik V2 Security
Elektrik is the first lightning-fast DEX on the LightLink Network with gasless transactions. In its V2 upgrade, I contributed from early stages to strengthen its security, enhance trading functionalities, and design mechanisms that made it more robust and user-focused.
The project introduced advanced order types, staking, and governance features, all backed by rigorous security-first design.
The Challenge
The early prototype was just a simple clicker with limited engagement and no long-term retention. It lacked depth, competitive elements, and monetization opportunities. My role was to shape its architecture, gameplay enhancements, and token economy to ensure growth and sustainability.
Goals & Objectives
Build a secure and reliable order-matching engine. Support multiple advanced order types (TWAP, Stop Loss, Take Profit). Ensure user fund protection with strong invariants. Develop a fair and transparent staking + governance model. Implement extensive testing to validate security under all conditions.
My Contributions
- Collaborated on designing and refining system invariants for the order-matching engine to ensure order integrity and correct fund handling.
- DWorked on mock attack scenarios and stress testing to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen resilience against exploits.
- Suggested security-first innovations like pre-execution integrity checks and conditional order encryption to safeguard user assets.
- Contributed to staking and governance mechanisms: token locking, decaying voting power, and reward distribution systems that ensured fairness.
- Helped design dynamic reward scoring for staking to align long-term participation with protocol health.
- Engaged in edge case analysis (e.g., last-minute stake/vote changes) to prevent governance manipulation.
Results & Impact
- BDelivered a secure and resilient DEX with advanced trading options that improved execution quality and user trust.
- Strengthened fund security through strict invariants and operator-only execution.
- Enabled fair governance by implementing voting escrow contracts and decaying voting power.
- Increased protocol stability with dynamic staking and boost mechanisms to incentivize liquidity providers.
- Enhanced system credibility through extensive stress tests, invariants testing, and edge case validation.
Conclusion
This project reflects my ability to not only work on the technical development side but also contribute deeply to security, architecture, and governance design. Elektrik V2 became more than just an upgraded DEX, it evolved into a secure, fair, and innovative DeFi ecosystem that set a benchmark for combining advanced trading features with user protection.
